Ps. 142:5

Ps. 142:5

I cry to you, Lord; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living

I am so thankful that God is my refuge. He keeps me safe from all the dangers seen and unseen. We can take comfort in knowing that God is our refuge (shelter). A shelter is design to protect us from the elements (cold, rain, wind, heat). God is here to be our refuge he wants to protect us from what the elements of sin and unbelieve can bring in our lives.
The verse says “I cry to “ to cry is to yell, or called out loudly. When we are need of a refuge we need to call out to the Lord that he and he alone is our refuge.
Lord help us to cry out to you that you are our refuge!!

Its Time to Move Forward

Genesis 12:1

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
It takes Faith to move forward in the purpose of God.

Most of us have our comfort zone and we are ok if God’s plan for our life don’t require us to move out of that land of comfort.  But God is not concern with your comfort zone but rather His purpose.  God will stretch your faith by asking you to do what you feel you are unable to do. think God ask us to move out of that land of comfort so that we can truly relay on Him and not our own abilities.

In order to obey the word of God Abram had to be willing to get out of his country,  that area of familiarity, leave some relationships, and trust God when in his going.

Abram's obedience was saying Yes, Father whatever you require of me that will I do.  God is waiting for your yes. It’s time to get out, let go and move on in God's purpose for your life.
Abram’s faith walk began when God called him. As Abram took each step his faith in God grew.  I encourage you tonight to take that first step of faith to do what God has called you to do. Then continue to trust God for each step along journey.

No Place for Fear

Exodus 4:1 Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’?
Moses was afraid the people would not believe him when he  told them what God had said.  Fear will cause us to question God's direction, call or prompting.
If we  are going to do what God ask of us, we are going to have to let fear go.
We know God has not given us the spirit of fear, (2 Tim 1:7) but if we are honest we can say there have been times we have not moved and done what God has asked because of fear.
I can think of times God prompted me to pray for someone or speak an encouraging word and I didn't do it because of fear. Fear won out over doing the will of God.
When fear wins we  have to go to God and ask for forgiveness then ask for His help.  So we don’t allow fear to keep us from doing the will of God.
Prayer: Father today I pray that we don't allow fear to keep us from doing your will. Father we need your help we know you have not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. Help us to walk in your power, your love  with the mind of Christ. Today we choose to do the will of God and say fear you have no place in our lives. In Jesus name Amen.

The Anthem (Full Song) | Planetshakers

Be bless, may the song minister to your heart.  I rejoice at knowing that Jesus has won it all!!!

In His Strength

Exodus 4:10- 12 NIV)

Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

Moses felt inadequate because of how he talked. He felt his weakness was too big to do what God had said. God made us, He knows our strength and our weakness. But He is not limited by our weakness.
In 2 Corinthians 12:9  it reads My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
What you see as a weakness could be the very thing that God uses to encourage or help someone else.  What you see as a weakness could be your area of ministry.  We must see ourselves in light of the Word of God not our shortcomings. God can use you if you are willing to allow Him to.

Time to Deal with It

Exodus 4: 24-26 At a lodging place on the way the Lord met him and sought to put him to death. 25 Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses'[a] feet with it and said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!” 26 So he let him alone. It was then that she said, “A bridegroom of blood,” because of the circumcision

In Exodus our text is sandwich in middle of the scriptures detailing Moses return to Egypt. In Exodus 4:18-23 Moses is preparing to return to Egypt and God is instructing him on what to say, In Exodus 27-31 Aaron goes and meets Moses and they return to Egypt to meet with the elders.

On His journey to do the will of God, the Lord meets him to kill him. {Exodus 4:24 At a lodging place on the way the Lord met him and sought to put him to death.}

Moses had forgotten to follow the covenant God made with Abraham regarding circumcision. {Gen. 17:10-14}. This one act of disobedience if not correct would have forfeit his purpose. God stopped the journey to deal with this issue.

This text reminded me of just how important it is that we make sure there are no hidden issues in our hearts or lives on our journey to do the will of God. We must go to God and ask that He reveal, root out, and heal any hidden issues or sin in our lives.

Prayer: Father I want to fulfill the purpose you have for me. As I embrace the journey you have place me on I give you permission to reveal to me any issues or hidden sins in my life. Not only reveal it to me but root-out any and everything that would hinder me from doing your will. In Jesus name amen!
