Who do you say I am?

Mark 8:27-30 27Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, "Who do people say I am?" 28They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets." 29"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Messiah."

As Jesus and his disciples are on their way from village to villages around Caesarea Philippi; Jesus ask his disciples two questions. First, He ask them who do people say I am.

Sadly, some people only view of Jesus is based on what others have told them. They have no personal relationship with Him. Their whole experience or knowledge of Jesus is based on what friends, families, and leaders in the faith have told them.

Therefore, the second question Jesus asked is so important. Who do you say I am?  Now it is personal. Now He is not looking for what others have said but who am I to you.

It is odd then when asked who do people say I am the bible says, “they replied” meaning more than one person responded to the question. Most of us can think of what others have said about who Jesus is.  However, when asked who do you say I am, Peter alone was the only one who responded. To answer this question, you cannot rely on friends or families, but you must have your own personal experience.

My question to you is who do you say He is? Is He your savior, your Lord or are you unsure? Is your experience with Jesus solely based on what others have said?  Do you have a personal relationship with Him?

Today it is my prayer that each an everyone who reads this post come into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. They would experience God’s mercy and grace so that along with myself and many others they can boldly declare Jesus you are the Messiah, the Christ the, son of the living God.

Freedom

Galatians 5:13-14New King James Version (NKJV)
13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”[

Christ came to not only free us from something, but He came to free us to something.

We are free from sin and free to have eternal life with Christ.  We do not have to live in bondage to sin for Christ came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.

We are also free from opinions of others. When we choose to see ourselves based on the opinions of others; then we neglect to see ourselves the way God see us.  When we accept Jesus as our personal savior God sees us through blood filtered lens. God sees us considering what Christ did, He sees us based on His plans and purposes.  We are free from the opinions of other and free to be who God declares in His word we are.

We are free from fear and free to trust God. The Bible lets us know that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. {2 Timothy 1:17}.We are free to live in full confidence in the Lord. When we truly understand what Jesus has done for us then we stop trying to get to a place of victory but operate from a place of freedom and victory in Christ Jesus.  Thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph in Christ {2 Corinthians 2:14}. We are free from fear and free to trust the Lord.

Today we have a choice. We can choose to live in bondage or we can choose to live a life of liberty in Christ Jesus. What will you choose today?

Not Alone

Hebrews 13:5

Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!

Praise God! This verse speaks volumes. How can we possible be content with our present circumstance? We must put our complete confidence in Him, for He will not fail us. God is not going to leave us. He is holding us and sustaining us. No matter what it looks like we know that God is with us. Today I choose to declare what the word of God’s says about my family, my destiny, and my circumstances. Will you?

God is Light

Text :  1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.{NIV}

I have watch my son go and hide in a dark closet during a game of hide and seek then later refuse to go to sleep in his room without the light on because it was too dark.  He did not want a night light, he want the whole room illuminate.

As soon as you enter a dark room and turn the light on, darkness is dissolved by the light.  There is no great struggle light on darkness gone. God is light and darkness in not darkness to Him.

Ps. 139: 12 Even the darkness is not dark to You and conceals nothing from You, But the night shines as bright as the day; Darkness and light are alike to You.

When God shows up so does light and if there is any darkness present it is swallowed up in the light of God.

God wants to bring light to the places in your life that are dark and void. Let’s be honest how many of us have areas in our life that we need illuminated by the light of God. We don’t need a little night light but full light. Just as God spoke light over the earth in Genesis 1:5 we need Him to release light over our marriages, churches, finances, schools and every area of our life that is void of Him.

Today I challenge you to let the light of God shine in every area of your life. You don’t have to be fearful of the dark areas just go to God because as soon as He shows up the darkness will be swallowed up!

During my prayer and devotional time the Lord place the above scripture in my Spirit. I have been praying and believing for the  more. The more is beyond where I am and is not define by my circumstance. God has more for you and me beyond what we can see and what we are experiencing now. In order to be ready to receive the more that God has we have to do something. God has no issues or problems doing the more but the question  is are we really ready for the more. I pray you join me in examining yourself to make sure you have yielded your will and ever area of your life over to His will.
I am excited because I know that by yielding to His will amazing things can and will happen! I don't know about you but I'm getting ready for the more!!!!

Love and Blessings

Time for a len Change

Now is the time to change the way you see things. We must truly began to see things the way Christ sees them. We can no longer afford to see our life or the life of those around us through the same lens. We need to operate from a different perspective.

Are fighting to get victory or are you operating from a seat of victory?  Do you see problems or possibilities?

The more you learn about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit the better you are to see things the way Christ does.  When we see clearly our prayers change and we began to partner with God and pray out His will.

Stay Focus

Stay Focus

Stay focus God is a God of purpose.

Matt. 4:1

Then Jesus was led by the [Holy] Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil

Distractions are subtle, sly, and the enemy of purpose. When we are distracted our full attention is not where it needs to be and Satan given the opportunity will take advantage of that.

Jesus did not resist the leading of the Spirit but understood the wilderness was just as much a part of his purpose as the cross.

The wilderness often is a time of wondering and uncertainty. In the wilderness, you must learn to trust God and his purposes.

Why I am here? What was I created for? Is this all life has for me? If we are honest we all have had questions like these or similar ones at some point in our lives.

God is a God of purpose, when we can become distracted by the wilderness process it can be easy to forget that. During the Wilderness, the devil will try to distract us with fear, anxiety or anger.  We can be so consumed with where we are that we forget that we are on a journey and that the wilderness experience is just a part of the process.

God is a God of purpose and we were born for such a time as this.  We cannot afford to be distracted from our purpose.  Jesus purpose was to redeem mankind but for he could fulfil that purpose He had to go through the wilderness.

Don’t allow the enemy to trick and distract you from your purpose.  You are here on a kingdom assignment.  Stay focus on your purpose. Pray and seek the will of God for your life.  God can complete the good work He has begun in you.

Its a New Year

Well it is 2017 and I am super excited!!!

I am believing that in 2017 that you will have clarity in the vision and destiny that God has purposed for you.

While I am not into to making new year’s resolutions I do believe that at the beginning of this year we need to take heed to Habakkuk 2:2-3. {NKJV}

Then the Lord answered me and said:

“Write the vision
And make
it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.

If you do not know what God’s vision is for your life, ministry, or marriage ask Him to reveal it to you. Then expect God to reveal to you what that vision is. He could reveal it through the written word, preach word, dreams, visions or that still small voice. Then write down what he reveals to you and look at it daily.

Be encourage my friends God is not finish with you yet. I believe your best days are ahead. No hung down heads, heavy hearts or regrets. Simple move forward into what God is calling you to do.

Believe my friend and be confident that the God who has begun a good work in you will perform it.

Many blessing to you in 2017,

A Father’s Heart 4 You Ministries
