Psalm 136:1 AMP
Give thanks to the Lord,
for He is good; For His loving-kindness (graciousness, mercy, compassion)
endures forever.
This verse is good news to all of those who think God
does not love them. The last part of the verse reads “endures forever”.
When we go to the
dictionary we see that the word endure has two simple definitions.
1.
To continue to exist in the same state
or condition. God’s love is consistent. James1 :7 (NIV) Every
good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly
lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. How awesome, God is
consistent in His love towards us. God does not love you one day then hate you
if you mess up. Yes, God does hate sin
but He loves you! His love for you continues, His desire is to see you live in
victory and see you live a life that glorifies Him.
2.
To experience pain or suffering for a long
time. Joel 2:13 And rend your
heart and not your garments " Now return to the LORD your God, For He is
gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in loving-kindness and
relenting of evil. Halleluiah, God is longsuffering!! God has not given up on.
He is still waiting with outstretch arms to welcome you in to the family of
God.
When we really embrace how much
God love for us, we understand that in spite of our faults, and short comings His
still loves us. God’s unconditional, consistent, and longsuffering love is not
a license for us to sin. We do not need to take His love for grant. We need to
embrace His wonderful love for us and reciprocate it. No one likes to be in a
one side relationship. God’s love for us is birth out of His genuine desire to
be in a loving intimate relationship with us.
Father thank you for your enduring love. Help us to
not only experience your love but to share it with others we come in contact with
today. My they feel your love as it flows through me.
In Jesus name Amen
